de Mamiel Restorative Cleansing Balm review

Hi lovelies

I hope you’ve all been enjoying the lovely sunshine. May was such a busy month for me, lots of weddings and special occasion make up which has been great fun. I suddenly realised this morning that I hadn’t posted in a while so thought I would whip up a review about an amazing cleansing balm that I have been using. The more I use cleansing balms the more I love them, they seem to work wonders on my skin, I actually use a lot of balms and oils instead of creams these days. Anyhoo I’ll get on with the review.

Here’s a bit about the company first-

Annee is the amazing lady that created the de Mamiel collection, she is an acupuncturist, healing holistic facialist and an aromatherapist. Now this lady certainly knows her stuff!  I love that she believes when you have a facial it is so much more than just about the skin care but also about shifting ones energy. We all certainly need a break when we live such busy lives and need to indulge in our personal care and love for ourselves. Annee believes that our faces are road maps of energy that speak volumes of our emotions and health so a lot of time, dedication and love have gone into her making her products to suit what she believes is important for our wellbeing. Her ethos is about rejuvenating ones self as well as the skin. She is definitely my kind of gal…. ok, I feel like I should say woman, it feels more powerful than gal.

“The de Mamiel Collection is about more than just skincare – it is about our life’s energy The products have been created using the ancient principles of Chinese medicine along with modern scientific research into how ingredients interact with our bodies. Each product is hand crafted and contains the purest natural and organic ingredients which have been carefully sourced for their unique potency. All of our blends are individually created to capture the energetic, skin nourishing properties of plants.”

I’ve only tried her cleansing balm, I actually didn’t know anything at all about this amazing collection in till I went to Content Beauty in London and one of the lovely ladies told me about her line. Firstly I think the packaging is very sleek and elegant, I don’t know about you guys but I can be a sucker for packaging. The cleanser comes in two sizes, I decided to go for the 30ml pot which cost me £39 which I know may seem a lot to some but it has lasted me 5 months so I think it’s totally with it. The smell is lovely, slightly lemony and it’s not overpowering at all- I think it definitely helped to relax me at night when I cleansed before bed.

You only need to use a small amount and apply to dry skin, I massaged it in slowly and then soaked a flannel in warm water and wiped it off. You can leave the flannel/cloth on your face for a minute too so it steams and activates the oils. I only did this sometimes depending on how quick I wanted to get in to bed. After I dried my face it didn’t have the tightness it usually has after washing it which was great. At times I would leave it but usually I applied some jojoba oil mixed with rosehip oil for an extra boost of nourishment.

I would highly recommend this amazing brand and I am really looking forward to trying more of their lovely products.
